• The spring sports season is upon us! 

Important Information

  • Registering for spring sports:
    FamilyID 

    • Both student and parent should participate in the online process, as signatures are needed from both
    • An up-to-date physical (within 13 months) must be on file with the nurse's office in order to participate.
      • This is NON-NEGOTIABLE
      • Dr. Godfrey will be at the HS and MS on Wednesday, March 13, 2024. Please register with your school nurse for this free physical!
    • This online form must be completed to participate
    • All policies and forms must be completed before trying out
    • This is the ONLY way to register for sports in the Ayer Shirley Regional School District

    User Fees:

    • A once-a-year payment of $200 per participant for high school sports
    • $100 per participant for middle school sports
    • A family cap of $500 per year) for
    • All sports must be paid prior to the first day or you cannot participate.
      • The only exception to this is MS baseball and MS softball, where cuts will likely need to be made.
        • In those cases, payment must be made prior to the second week of practice once teams have been chosen. 

    Transportation:
    Parents/Guardians need to provide transportation to/from all home events and to the school for buses to road events. Lacrosse is responsible for all transportation on their own. Golf parents and students may need to transport to practice in Lunenburg on occasion.

    Game schedules are updated on ArbiterLive. Please subscribe to your team as changes are updated there first.'

    Grades For Each Sport:
    The MIAA mandates that sports on high school teams go to high school students first. If needed, schools may apply for a middle school waiver. These waivers are only to ensure enough participants are needed to field teams.

    ASRSD will offer the following sports for the Spring 2024 Season. All HS/MS spots will begin March 18, 2024 with the exception of Unified Track, which will begin the first week of April.

    *This new co-ed program is open to grades 6-8. Students will take one of the Ayer buses to the high school for daily practice with the HS team and have meets against other middle schools to be held at the high school. The expectation is to have events Monday through Friday. Practice will run from 2:45 until about 4:30/4:45, with meets beginning around 3:30 p.m. (lasting 90-120 minutes). Students must be picked up promptly at the high school.

    Girls flag football (8-12) -- Since this is a non-MIAA sport, you can participate while playing another sport. It will run one practice and one game night per week. Please email John Lemieux at john.lemiuex@alphagary.com

    Competitions will begin at 3:30 or 4 depending on the day and sport. Practices will start no earlier than 2:45, though start times will be staggered throughout the afternoon. Coaches will announce practice schedules soon.

    SportsYou will be utilized by coaches and staff as a communication app. Information on how to register will come from your coaches. All communication should occur through this app, so it's important to register!
