School Cancellation/Delayed Opening Procedures
CHANGE TO SNOW DAYS FOR 2020-2021 ONLY:
THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION HAS INFORMED SUPERINTENDENTS OF THE FOLLOWING: FOR THIS SCHOOL YEAR ONLY, BECAUSE OF THE PANDEMIC, IF THERE ARE DAYS SCHOOLS MUST CLOSE BECAUSE OF INCLEMENT WEATHER, SNOW DAYS WILL BE REMOTE LEARNING DAYS. WE WILL NOT HAVE TO MAKE UP SNOW DAYS FOR THE 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR. HOWEVER, THERE IS ONE EXCEPTION TO THIS, IF WE EXPERIENCE POWER OUTAGES AND CANNOT PARTICIPATE IN REMOTE LEARNING, THE DAY WILL BE DECLARED A NO SCHOOL DAY AND WE WILL HAVE TO MAKE IT UP AT THE END OF THE YEAR.
The following procedures will be followed for a school cancellation/school delay:
A decision will be made as early as possible, preferably between 5:00-5:30 am.
All families and employees will receive a voice call and email via Blackboard Connect.
School cancellation/delay will be announced on Channels 4, 5, 7, NECN & Fox 25.
The no school/delay announcement will be posted on Facebook, the District Website www.asrsd.org, and tweeted via twitter @marymalone7.
School start times for one and two hour delayed openings are below:
It may become necessary to close schools early due to an emergency. In the event of an early or emergency dismissal, all after school and evening activities will be cancelled.
