Our vision is to connect, engage, and inspire every student to reach academic excellence. The educators of the Ayer Shirley Regional School District will instill habits of reflection and inquiry that challenge our students to set ambitious academic and personal goals. Students will develop a strong voice to express thoughts and ideas in the community, the confidence to showcase their talents, and academic and personal successes in preparation for entry into college and the world of work.

The ASRHS Performing Arts Season Program

Each year, the ASRHS Performing Arts publish an annual season program with information about all performances and productions, as well as featuring all those individuals, businesses and organizations who contribute to the musical and theatrical endeavors at the school.

Inclusion in this book ranges from $25 to $200 for program ad spaces, and donations are welcome in all denominations (every penny counts!)

For information about participating in the annual book or becoming a sponsor, email asrsddrama@asrsd.org for information, or download the 2019-2020 Contribution Form HERE.

ASRHS Music Boosters
Operating in partnership with ASRHS Music Director Tim Ketterer, the ASRHS Music Boosters is a parent-led organization made up of parents and guardians of students in the School bands and chorus. We are dedicated to supporting and promoting the ASRHS music programs, as well as encouraging participation in all ASRSD music programs. Funds raised by the Boosters support music-related activities, instruments and scholarship programs not covered through the district budget.
Are you the parent or guardian of an ASRHS Band or Choir student? See what’s up in their ASRHS Music world! The Boosters will be meeting at the ASRHS library on the 2nd Tuesday of each month starting in 9/10/19.  For more info, contact asrhsmb@gmail.com.

The ASRHS Drama Club
The ASRHS Drama Club is open to all students in grades 9-12 (and sometimes beyond), as well as any faculty and administrative staff who would like to play.  Rehearsals are held evenings in efforts to not conflict with ASRHS athletics.

Upcoming Performances

November 22 (7 pm) & November 23 (2 pm & 7 pm): Noel Coward’s “Blithe Spirit.” The smash comedy hit of the London and Broadway stages, this much-revived classic offers up fussy, cantankerous novelist Charles Condomine, re-married but haunted (literally) by the ghost of his late first wife, the clever and insistent Elvira who is called up by a visiting “happy medium,” one Madame Arcati. As the (worldly and un-) personalities clash, Charles’ current wife, Ruth, is accidentally killed, “passes over,” joins Elvira, and the two “blithe spirits” haunt the hapless Charles into perpetuity. Laura S. Leavitt Auditorium at ASRHS. Tickets are $10 and $8 (students/seniors). This production is family-friendly.

January 10 & 11 (7 pm): Quick Wits Improv Troupe’s: “2020 Vision,” an evening of improvisational, impromptu, implausible and impossibly funny comedy and creativity. To participate in this year’s Troupe, email asrsddrama@asrsd.org for more information.

March 20 & 21 (7 pm); March 21 & 22 (2 pm) – Stephen Schwartz’ “PIPPIN,” ASRHS Spring musical presentation. There's magic to do when a prince learns the true meaning of glory, love and war in this iconic and unforgettable musical masterpiece. With an infectiously unforgettable score from four-time Grammy winner, three-time Oscar winner and musical theatre giant, Stephen Schwartz, Pippin is the story of one young man's journey to be extraordinary. Laura S. Leavitt Auditorium at ASRHS. Tickets are $15 and $10 (students/seniors). This production is rated PG-13.
