Our vision is to connect, engage, and inspire all students in the Ayer Shirley Regional School District to reach academic excellence. We, the educators of the Ayer Shirley Regional School District, will instill habits of reflection and inquiry to challenge our students in setting ambitious academic and personal goals. Students will develop a strong voice to express thoughts and ideas in the community and the confidence to showcase their talents and successes in preparation for entry into college and the world of work.

Welcome from your ASMS Counselors!

Hello and welcome to the Ayer-Shirley Regional Middle School! We look forward to getting to know each of you and helping to make your transition to ASMS as smooth as possible.

For returning students: welcome back! It is great to see your cheery faces again as you move on to the 7th and 8th grades. We are thrilled to be back here with you this year to continue our journey together through the middle school. We will continue to make every effort of getting to know each and every one of you through individual conversations, small group counseling sessions, during lunch, or at other times throughout the day.

As counselors, our job is to work with students, parents, teachers/staff, administrators and other members of the community to help all students succeed not only in school, but also in their lives outside of school. Sometimes this may involve helping students find solutions to bigger problems, but also may be simply lending a listening ear if someone is having a bad day. Whatever the issue may be, it is our goal to make the ASMS counseling office a welcoming and supportive place for all students.

So as we embark on this new school year, we encourage you to please stop us in the hallway or swing by our offices to introduce yourself if we haven't already met, tell us about your summer, or just say hello. We are here to help you in any way that we can, but we need you to communicate your needs to us in order to do so. Please don't get nervous or worried if you are called down to the counseling office unexpectedly. Most often we are just checking in to see how you are doing and to see if there is anything we can do to help! We wish you the very best during your middle school experience!
