Our vision is to connect, engage, and inspire all students in the Ayer Shirley Regional School District to reach academic excellence. We, the educators of the Ayer Shirley Regional School District, will instill habits of reflection and inquiry to challenge our students in setting ambitious academic and personal goals. Students will develop a strong voice to express thoughts and ideas in the community and the confidence to showcase their talents and successes in preparation for entry into college and the world of work.

Welcome Back!

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year! We are excited for Opening Day, Tuesday, August 30, 2016. Bus routes are posted on our district website, www.asrsd.org. Also on the website you will find other important information regarding the new Point of Sale Food Service Program, school calendars, Open House dates, Summer Reading information, Supply Lists and more. The district website page as well as our Middle School page is updated regularly, so please check it on a regular basis.

We will begin our first day with a morning assembly in the auditorium, after which all students will be escorted to their homeroom by the homeroom teacher. During this extended homeroom time, students will receive an orientation that covers schedules, locker assignments, grade level expectations, and Unified Arts/Enrichment assignments. For the remainder of the day all grades will follow an abbreviated schedule so they can meet with each of their teachers.

Students will be bringing home a packet of information for you that includes the very important Health and Emergency Forms, Free and Reduced Lunch Application and the Acceptable Use Policy Form. Please complete these forms, returning them to school on Wednesday, August 31st.

Many of you have your username and password to access the Parent Portal, where you will be able to view your child’s grades and other classroom information. ( https://www.plusportals.com/ASRSD  ) Unfortunately, some parents had access to schedules before they were finalized. Please know that your child’s schedule will be given out on opening day. We typically do not share student schedules until that time as we are continually adjusting them as we work diligently to create the best learning experiences for each student. If you have forgotten or have never received your username/login information, please email one of the following people to help you:

Betinna Libby, Administrative Assistant: blibby@asrsd.org

Wendy Curley, Administrative Assistant: wcurley@asrsd.org

Bryan Oelerich, Assistant Principal: boelerich@asrsd.org

Enjoy your last weekend of summer vacation! Please feel to contact me or Mr. Oelerich with any questions or concerns.

I am looking forward to a great year!

Sincerely,

Roberta Aikey
