Our vision is to connect, engage, and inspire all students in the Ayer Shirley Regional School District to reach academic excellence. We, the educators of the Ayer Shirley Regional School District, will instill habits of reflection and inquiry to challenge our students in setting ambitious academic and personal goals. Students will develop a strong voice to express thoughts and ideas in the community and the confidence to showcase their talents and successes in preparation for entry into college and the world of work.

A TIME FOR GIVING THANKS & A TIME FOR GIVING TO OTHERS

Dear Page Hilltop School Families,

As we head into the month of November, and the holiday seasons not too far away, it is a time to reflect upon our lives and give thanks for what we have.  As we continue to grow as a school community, we always want our students to remember that they are also “citizens” of the “global community”.

Former First Lady Barbara Bush once said: “Giving frees us from the familiar territory of our own needs by opening our minds to the unexplained worlds occupied by the needs of others.” Oprah Winfrey (author, media personality and philanthropist) said: “I don’t think you ever stop giving. I think it’s an ongoing process. And it’s not just about being able to write a check. It’s about being able to touch someone’s life.”

Here at Page Hilltop we strive to reinforce with our students the concepts of empathy, caring, compassion and community spirit. With that thought in mind, we invite you to join us in a “campaign of caring & compassion”. Listed below are several different community service activities that our school will be involved in during the time frame of November - January. We ask that you take some time, as a family, to discuss these activities and consider whether your family is in a position to provide support to any or all of them. If this is not a good time for your family to be involved, please do not give it a second thought. There will be future opportunities for your family to consider. Please keep in mind that any donation, of any amount, is gratefully accepted. This is a chance for our Page Hilltop community members to give to other community members in need. We appreciate your consideration and ask that you note the different time frames for each of the supportive activities.

I want to thank you, in advance, for anything you may be able to do in support of these initiatives. If there is ANYTHING we can do to support your family during these holiday times, please do not hesitate to contact either Mr. Deppe  or Mrs. Savoie (school counselor) and we will have a confidential conversation.

WINTER WEAR CLOTHING DRIVE  (November 9 - 30)
If you have any gently used winter clothing (jackets, snow pants, boots, sweatshirts) that your children have outgrown, there is probably another PH family who could make good use of these items. Please drop them off at school and we will distribute them. This pertains to adult clothing items also. This is a great chance to clear some space in your closets while filling a void for someone else.

LOAVES & FISHES FOOD DRIVE  (Upcoming in January)
Our school has always supported this annual food drive. The folks at “Loaves & Fishes” have stocked up food for the holiday season but will be in need of additional items beginning in January. Our PLT students will be coordinating a food drive when we return from the holiday break. Keep watch for further details.

WEEKEND SNACK PACK PROGRAM  (On-Going)
Our Snack Pack Program has been in place for several years now and we currently support over 60 students each week. If you are in a position to make a monetary donation towards this program, we would welcome hearing from you. All monies received go directly back into the program as they are used to purchase food items for the snack packs. Please make all checks payable to: “Page Hilltop Snack Pack Program”.

Best wishes to you all!!
