Our vision is to connect, engage, and inspire every student to reach academic excellence. The educators of the Ayer Shirley Regional School District will instill habits of reflection and inquiry that challenge our students to set ambitious academic and personal goals. Students will develop a strong voice to express thoughts and ideas in the community, the confidence to showcase their talents, and academic and personal successes in preparation for entry into college and the world of work.

New month, new year, new opportunities

Dear Page Hilltop Parents / Families:

I hope you had an enjoyable vacation break.  We now return to a new month, a new year and many exciting opportunities to learn and grow.  As I have mentioned on numerous occasions, your child’s success rate is directly proportional to the level of communication and collaboration that is maintained between school and home.  Parents and educators must be partners in the education of all students.

Our recent round of parent conferences is a fine example of how to foster this collaboration in a positive manner.  Over the course of conference week we had 90% of our students represented by one or more parents.  This is an excellent turnout rate and speaks highly of our informed and engaged parents.

Please remember that you may request a conference / meeting at any time of the school year.  This pertains to classroom teachers, special education teachers, ELL or Title I teachers, counselors, unified arts teachers and / or administrators.  We are here to listen to your concerns and questions as well as to recommend how you may effectively support your child’s learning growth at home.

In addition I recommend that you consider attending PTO meetings, ASEF meetings, SEPAC meetings, School Committee meetings, School Council meetings as well as school-sponsored events.  To be involved is to be informed.  You will find dates for these meetings posted on our website as well as the monthly calendar that comes home.

Please contact either Ass’t Principal Beth Lewis or I, at any time, with ANY questions / concerns that you may have.

Lastly I ask that you take some time to discuss with your child(ren) what academic and personal goals they may set for this second tri-mester of the 2016 - 17 school year.
