Dear Page Hilltop Parents / Guardians:
The month of August has arrived and I hope you are enjoying the days of summer vacation. We have had lovely summer weather, relaxing times spent with family and friends, the pleasure of reading many wonderful books and the excitement that comes with the thoughts of a new school year! There is also much to be done at school, as we prepare for the opening on August 29th.
I am very excited about the school year that will begin shortly. Whether you are a first time parent at Page Hilltop or a “veteran” with one or more children already in the system, I’m sure you will agree that we will all approach the school opening with a great deal of excitement, mixed with a little anxiety. This goes for the students, parents, teachers and principal! What I do know, from years of experience with school openings, is that the nervousness and anxiety will quickly diminish as the level of excitement continues to grow each and every day!
Our primary focus is to provide each child with new challenges that will result in a rewarding school experience. We want your child to be happy and successful at Page Hilltop and you will play a key role in your child’s success. Your role is to continually show interest in, and support for your child. A child who knows his or her family is interested in and supports school programs and staff, will almost always enjoy a greater success, and will have fewer problems in school.
Page Hilltop is a school where students are supported and encouraged to grow in all areas – academically, socially and emotionally. I am fortunate to be a part of this high-quality learning community, and I speak on behalf of the entire staff when I say we are excited to have each of you as part of our school team. It takes all of us to help each and every child reach his/her potential, and we look forward to sharing in your child’s learning experiences.
Effective two-way communication is the key to all of our successes. During the first week of school you will receive a significant amount of literature, all requiring your attention. Please keep in mind, as you shuffle through all the paperwork and read over all the emails, that you are laying the foundation for a positive school year. In the meantime, please feel free to email me, at any time with your questions, concerns and suggestions. I will be in and out of the building throughout the summer and will be checking emails and promise to respond to you.
Enjoy the rest of your summer… Keep reading…Dream big!
